Dr. Samantha Mathis

Leadership and Team Coach

About

Since founding Ignition Coaching LLC in 2011, career and executive coach Samantha’s passion is working with global, multi-cultural teams in complex and challenging environments, to build capability and behaviors to drive organizational performance. Born from her love of travel and learning about other countries, she believes in helping teams and organizations have a true understanding of the people they are working with to build more effective working relationships and achieve the change they are looking for. Her ability to help individuals and teams succeed has been enhanced by having worked in many different environments and leading multi-cultural teams in the Americas, Caribbean, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe.

A retired Royal Air Force officer, Samantha particularly enjoys helping transitioning military personnel to achieve equally successful careers outside of the military. She has more than 20 years’ experience developing and delivering leadership and management strategies and coaching and mentoring teams and individuals to achieve their goals. This has included working with U.K. and allied militaries, and on projects for the U.S. and U.K. governments, the United States Agency for International Development, as well as in the private and education sectors.

A ‘learner’ herself, she is currently completing a Doctorate exploring the value of online learning communities on leadership capabilities. Born in the U.K., and a dual U.S./U.K. citizen, Samantha is currently Head of Learning & Development for the Americas region (North, Central, South America & Caribbean) for the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office. When she isn’t travelling and exploring the great outdoors, she resides in Seattle with her family and cats. She is also a French speaker.
